Ellwyn Otto Klingbeil, age 85, of Green Lake, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 6, 2014. He was born on October 5, 1929 in Waukegan, IL, the son of Julius and Florence (Mitchell) Klingbeil. On October 10, 1954, he was united in marriage to Donna Eisner at The Federated Church in Green Lake. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2001. Ellwyn worked in the potato fields in Plover for several years after graduating high school. He then moved to Green Lake and farmed his own land for over 57 years. Ellwyn also worked for the Green Lake Conference Center and drove forklift for the Ripon Canning factory. He was a member of The Federated Church of Green Lake and belonged to the Polka Dance Club. He enjoyed snowmobiling, dancing and is well known for making Christmas Wreaths.
He is survived by his four sons, Ronald (Madeline) of Berlin, Brian (Julie) of Green Lake, Steven (Linda) of Green Lake, and Michael of Ripon; 5 grandchildren, Melissa (Shay) Korittnig of Neenah, Jeremy (Theresa) Klingbeil of Appleton, Ryan Klingbeil of Green Lake, Evan (Elaine) Klingbeil of Richmond, TX, and Stacy (Erind) Qerimi of West Bend; 5 great grandchildren, Jackson and Hamilton Korittnig, Addison and Bennet Klingbeil, and Adrian Qerimi; one sister Florence Smith of Madison; Special friends, Mr. Gary and Ardis Benz of Hixton, WI and Jennette Davis of Oshkosh; other relatives and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna and sister Shirley Rabenhorst.
A Memorial Service will be held for Ellwyn at 11:30am on Friday, December 12, 2014 at The Federated Church in Green Lake with Rev. Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the services. Inurnment will be held in Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake.
