Janet P. White-Moon: June 24, 1945 – February 10, 2015

Janet P. White-Moon, age 69, of Green Lake, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 due to an automobile accident in Packwaukee, WI. Jan was born on June 24, 1945 in Cambridge, NY, the daughter of Paul and Ines (Shimp) Shaub. She graduated from Grayslake High School in Illinois and then received her BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Jan was united in marriage to her loving husband Thomas Moon on May 27, 2012 at the First Congregation Church in Ripon. She was very active with several Ripon churches and a member of Ripon Community Church. Jan was known as a “natural born leader”. She was the Director and Teacher for the Christian Writers Conference, Chair of the Friends of the Green Lake Music Festival, Past President of Christian Educators Fellowship, accomplished Florist, Columnist, Writer, Teacher.


She was proud to be a member of the Green Lake community, as everyone knew from her license plate, “LUVN GL”. Her true passion was putting together flower arrangements for weddings. Three of her floral pieces were on exhibit in 2013 at the Paine Art Center’s Room in Bloom special exhibit in Oshkosh. She loved writing, painting, reading, helping others, cooking, donating her time and resources and especially loved her grandchildren.


Jan is survived by her husband Tom of Green Lake; two sons: Nicholas (Retawnya) Provenzano of Indianapolis, IN and Gregory (Vicki) White of Chicago, IL; three step-daughters: Kirsten Moon, Elizabeth (Nicholas) Boeke, both of St Louis Park, MN, and Allison (Jason) Maners of Seattle, WA; one brother, David (Suzy) Shaub of Union, ME; six grandchildren: Natalia and Amelia Provenzano, Harrison White, Hayden Maners, Walter and Iris Boeke; other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson Samuel Provenzano.


A Memorial Service for Jan will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Green Lake Conference Center Kern Lodge with Pastor Jack Igel officiating. Friends and family may visit at the Green Lake Conference Center from 1:00PM until the time of the services. Memorials can be directed to the Green Lake Conference Center in Jan’s name.
