Kathy L. Quade, age 52, of Markesan, passed away peacefully at her home on January 4, 2015 surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. She met it head on and battled proudly but in the end lost the battle.
On May 10, 1962, the final of 18 children, Kathy was born to Rudolph G. and Anna M. (Hobler) Lange. She was born and raised mainly in the Markesan area where she got her education in the Markesan school district. The family, size that it was, was raised on the farm.
Kathy was united in marriage to Daniel Quade on March 22, 1980 in Markesan. They resided in the Markesan/ Fairwater area their entire lives. On July 21, 1980, their daughter Jennifer Anne was born followed by Stephanie Marie 4 years later on October 6, 1984. On March 4, 2005, they were blessed with their only grandchild, Sean David. Her kids were the love of her life and what kept her young.
Kathy enjoyed baking, when the mood hit her, reading, outdoor gardening and watching the various animals that would pay visits to their feeders. The recent purchase of a Pontoon boat brought many fun, enjoyable, and relaxing days of fishing and just driving the lakes.
Kathy is survived by her husband Dan; two daughters, Jennifer (Special Friend Perry) and Stephanie; one grandson, Sean; many siblings, Carl (Arlene) Lange, Darlene (Bob) Immel, Don (Bobbi) Lange, Dee Lange, Russ (Karen) Lange, Virginia (Orlo) Verch, Jim (Phyllis) Lange, Diane (Ron) Wagner, Jerry (Candy) Lange, Barb Winkler, Linda (Jim) Rocheleau, Rick Lange, Debbie (Scott) Drangstveit and Judi (Darin) Nickolai; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rudy and David; one sister, Carole Castle; grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Through her battles with cancer, Kathy always tried to stay positive and have a smile on her face. She surrounded herself with positive people and those that could make her laugh. She wanted and needed fun in her life and many brought that to her. Kathy requested that people do not cry for her, remember the good, fun times we’ve had and laugh and celebrate her life. Love those around you and give a hug when you get a chance. They are a fantastic jolt of energy when you need one and they feel SO good!!! Rest easy knowing I am no longer in pain and that I am watching over you and always in your hearts. I love you all and we will meet again.
Funeral services for Kathy will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the funeral home from 3-7pm and also on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9am until the time of the services.
