Lawrence L. Prellwitz: January 22, 1922 - January 27, 2017

Lawrence L. Prellwitz, age 95, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, January 27 2017 at Prairie Place in Ripon with his family by his side. Lawrence was born on January 22, 1922 in Ripon, the son of Albert and Ida (Roehl) Prellwitz and attended Ripon High School. He was united in marriage to Irene Wendlandt on August 7, 1943 in Ripon. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2014. They were both lifelong members of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.

Lawrence worked at Ripon Speed Queen for decades as an Inspector and Foreman. After retiring, he and Irene loved to travel as often as they could everywhere. Lawrence has always been an avid Packers fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing when he had the time. He did many things with his hands such as carpentry work and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren.

Lawrence is survived by his 3 sons: Gerald (Martha) of Green Lake, Ricky (Debbie) of Ripon, Ronold (Lisa) of Kaukauna; 2 daughters: Karen (Gary) Clark of Brandon, Carol Prellwitz of Ripon, 8 grandchildren: Robert (Amy) Prellwitz of Mequon, Rebecca (Robert) Paxton of Wauwatosa, Jason Manthei of Fond du Lac, Lisa Kay Manthei of Green Bay, Stephanie Prellwitz of Ripon, Danielle Hinton of Ripon, Adam Prellwitz of Kaukauna, Sara (Danny) Preissner of Combined Locks; 9 great grandchildren: Sullivan, Harrison and Eliana Prellwitz; Audrey and Liam Paxton, Aaliyah Wilson, Damian and Nyasia Singh, and Jayden Hinton; and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene; infant grandson, Jeremy Adam Manthei, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

A Funeral service for Lawrence will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with Rev. Dr. Kevin Mundell officiating. Friends and family may visit at Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4:00PM – 7:00PM and again at the CHURCH on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will be held in the Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon is proudly serving the Prellwitz family.
