Marie Trampf (nee Treanore), age 71, of Ripon, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon, WI with her family by her side. She was born on October 10, 1944 in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Grace (Quinn) Treanore.
Marie graduated from Mayville High School before moving to Ripon. She was united in marriage to her loving husband, Gordon Trampf in 1964 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. They were married for 49 years before he preceded her in death on November 23, 2013. Marie managed the jewelry repair shop she and her husband, Gordon owned in Ripon. She also worked at Ripon College managing the Pub, and worked at Kmart for many years.
Marie was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. She was a past committee member of Riponfest and enjoyed volunteering for many years at Badger Boys State. Marie loved nature. She enjoyed watching birds and gardening. Her favorite holiday was Christmas because she and Gordon always had a huge light display in their yard and she would watch the many cars drive past their house taking pictures. Marie loved Norton’s Restaurant in Green Lake, it was her favorite. She and Gordon celebrated their Wedding Anniversary at Norton’s every year until Gordon became ill. She enjoyed listening and dancing to the Heidel Singers at the Heidel House in Green Lake.
Marie is survived by her son, Daniel (Jody) Trampf of Sun Prairie, WI; daughter, Debra (Mark) Smith of Green Lake, WI; grandchildren, Natalie and Andrew Trampf, both of Sun Prairie, WI, Joseph Smith and Samuel Smith, both of Green Lake, WI; sister, Collette Feucht of Neillsville, WI; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 49 years, Gordon; and daughter, Annette Trampf in 1968.
Per the wishes of the family, Marie will be cremated. Interment will be held in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The family has established a memorial in Marie’s name.
